London Floshops Highlights

It was a good opportunity for me to travel while attending the Floshops 2009 in London. The combination of the speakers in their expertise areas: Ben Chrisman of Ben Chrisman Photography, Dave and Quinn of DQStudio and Jason of JasonGroupp really amazed me. Within a few days, the hands-on experience of the workshop brought my photography skills to a totally new level. Thanks again for these masters who spent the few days with us to share their valuable knowledge and experience, which otherwise might take us a long time to find out ourselves. Also a big bravo to David Pullum and Ross Tanner, who made this workshop possible.

And of course, I missed all the great people I have met at the workshop already. I would love to see them all again soon.

Jason and Lindsey of Jason Groupp took everybody to the field to show us how to shoot outdoor like a Fashion Pro.

We are all having fun too.

Goodbye London!

I spent a couple of days in London after my 4 days workshop. London is a very cool place with lots of attractions all within very short distances. Public transportation like the underground railway (Tube) and the buses are very convenient. It reminds me so much of the busy city of Hong Kong which I grew up in. I had a great time and wish I can go there again with my family in the near future.

Hello from London - Day 2

The next day, after a good rest, I started my little excursion to the famous Windsor Castle. It was soaking wet and cold at the beginning, but luckily the sun did come out eventually.

The size of the castle is quite breathtaking. It is an interesting contrast of this old architecture with the modernized shops and contemporary buildings just across the street.

Hello from London - Day 1

After a relatively long flight, and a longer than expected taxi ride from the airport, I finally arrived at the little town of Maidenhead near Windsor. The town, even though small, has basically all the familiar and popular stores and restaurants. So I feel quite at home!

Melissa + Gary Engagement (San Francisco, CA)

I will be out of town for a week starting this Friday to attend the Floshop in London. Will update the blog with pictures of my London trip soon.

We started our photo session at the Farmers Market in San Francisco. The city has just started to breath in the morning. The smell of the air was so fresh and amazingly warm. We then walked through a BART station on Market St. and made some interesting shots there. At the end, we headed back to the Ferry Building and finished our shots in the crowd.

Winter Family Trip (Lake Tahoe, CA)

We took the kids to Tahoe during school winter break. There was plenty of fresh powdery snow after a few snow showers. It was the first ski experience for the kids and they loved it! Looks like we might be back again soon.

Look at our icicle sabers!
