Merry X'mas + Happy New Year!

We had a wonderful X'mas meal at my brother's house on X'mas day. We went to see some great lightings and decorations in San Carlos. This house has the most light bulbs!

Hope everyone has a marvellous New Year's eve and countdown with their friends and families.

I hope everyone a very warm and wonderful Christmas, celebrating this joyful season with your friends and families. And I also wish everyone a prosperous and happy New Year in 2009!

I took this picture while wandering in the San Jose downtown neighborhood in early December.

Clara + Anthony Wedding (San Francisco, CA)

I first met Clara and Anthony about one and a half year ago when I was the photographer of Anthony's best friend Rui's (and Jennifer) wedding. Working with Clara and Anthony is like working with some old friends. I was very delighted.

This was a very unusual wedding where there was a bit of excitement. First, the groom, Anthony, hurt his toe badly and ended up staying in the ER the whole morning. The bride and the wedding party were worrying and eagerly hoping Anthony to show up. And just when it was the time for the ceremony, like in a movie, Anthony dramatically showed up in the church.

The second excitement happened to me. Towards the end of the ceremony, when I was concentrating taking the last shots and unaware there were candles right next to me, my nice blue shirt was on fire! My shirt was literally burning (with a pretty strong smell)! I was fortunate to handle it without alarming anyone, however, with a hole in my shirt for the rest of the day.

This will add a couple more anecdotes to my wedding photographer career. This is the reason why I love my job so much - there are always lots of touching and/or exciting moments that come in their own unexpected ways that makes my day so much more interesting.

Their baby son Anthony Jr., is not camera shy at all. Look how adorable he is in Clara's arms.

Clara and Anthony were baptizing Anthony Jr. during their wedding ceremony.

The fog came in just the right time to give the picture a special feel.

Adrienne + Jose Engagement (San Francisco, CA)

Last Sunday (12/07/08) was Adrienne's birthday. The birthday girl told me she has been looking forward for her birthday for months. It turned out she celebrated it in her unique way by having an engagement photo session in San Francisco.

We started the photo shoot at AT&T Park, the place where Adrienne and Jose watched many games together. We then visited Yerba Buena Garden to relive the moments Jose proposed to Adrienne. The city was pretty chilly after dark, but the lights and color were spectacular. Even though my hands were freezing, I just couldn't stop myself from clicking on the shutter. The couple were great models, even in the crisp cold air.
