Jamie + Leyan: Love blowin' in the wind (San Francisco, CA)

How does ballroom dancing relate to Rubik's cube? Meet our lovely and talented couple here, Jamie and Leyan. Jamie loves ballroom dancing and she's a medalist at the US National Championship, while Leyan holds a Rubik's cube World Champion record (and I was lucky to see a live demonstration of that!) Leyan is also a violonist and has performed at many concerts, and he also loves photography. 

We went to Battery Spencer with a nice, close view of the beautiful crimson Golden Gate Bridge. Jamie and Leyan's first trip together was a drive along the Pacific Coast Highway, so having their engagement session with the bridge and the Pacific Ocean helps commemorate this memorable trip. 

Despite the crazy wind and the long walk (it was almost a hike) since we had to park really far away because of the crowd, Jamie and Leyan showed no fear and just enjoyed every bit of it! 

I'm really looking forward to their wedding day and maybe fortunate enough to see and hear more of their performances!

A Fun Pre-wedding session at the Beach - with Chloe, William and Mochi (San Francisco, CA)

There were no blue sky or bright sun on the day Chloe and William had their pre-wedding session, but rather it was the cloudy and chilly kind of San Francisco weather. At first Chloe was a bit worried the weather might spoil some fun, but it turned out to be a really enjoyable session at the beach with their lovely furry baby Mochi. Chloe and William dressed up nicely in their gown and suit, but that did not stop them from walking in the wind and sand, through the woods, and even rock climbing! Definitely my fearless couple! 

Thank you Chloe and William for an awesome session, and particularly a big thank you to our behind-the-scene hero, Chloe's aunt, who helped in every way from babysitting Mochi to help me with the light! 

Chloe and William will be traveling back to Asia for their wedding, and I wish them best of luck!

Jean + Chirag: Love in the City! (San Francisco, CA)

It rained the day before Jean and Chirag's engagement photo session, which made the bride-to-be a bit worried. But it turned out to be a gorgeous day in the city! We started off from the interesting architecture of the Jewish Museum cube and caught some special natural light amidst the forest of tall buildings. We then went next door to the Press Club of San Francisco. It is the couple's favorite hangout place, and was a great choice to include in their e-Session. It's a nicely decorated, cozy bar, a great place to get relaxed and capture some in style shots.

Jean and Chirag are easy-going and so much fun to hang out with. Chirag is also an amateur photographer himself, and as we went along, I shared with him some of my experiences as a photographer. Chirag felt especially excited to be on the other side of the camera. And with Jean, I think they made great models!

It was a great afternoon spent with this lovely couple, and I can't wait for their big day to come!

Jane + Simon: A simply lovely engagement session! (San Francisco, CA)

It was a beautiful day in San Francisco for an engagement shoot! We started off in the Potrero Hill neighborhood. It was a quiet and serene little town, and we roamed around the area to get some beautiful images. Simon is an amateur photographer and has good eye. It was funny we spotted a red Volkswagen at the same time and borrowed it as our prop! We then stopped by the popular spot with the City skyline as backdrop. 

After a short stay in Potrero Hill, we headed over to the Ferry Building and the nearby Embarcadero Center to get some more city shots. Simon, despite being a bit nervous at the very beginning, actually did so well. The sweet couple was so natural and we got some really nice moment shots! Jane and Simon are such a photogenic couple and I could just feel the love in the air!

Our last stop was Little Italy, when it was time to catch some sunset and city light. It was quite crowded and we weaved through traffic and crowd for some nice night shots to end the day. 

Special kudos to Jane. Even though she was not feeling well that day, she had really great spirit and did awesome throughout the shoot.
